Exhibit: "Unexpected Openings" by Carol Koutnik / "Threads of Nature" by Irmgard Geul

For this first class of the current exhibit, 18 students painted floral pieces on canvas based on Carol Koutnik's exquisite garden images throughout the front gallery, using a single-color base as a background of the floral arrangements based on each of the four seasons. The vibrant energy of creativity filled the air as students brought the magic of nature to life on their canvases, each piece bursting with the colors and charm of the changing seasons.

Exhibit: "Nightscapes and Other Visions" by Joe Peña / "Ordinary Prayers In Words and Whispers" by Michelle Belto

During this exhibit, our budding young artists created "Nightscape" creations based on exhibit artist Joe Peña's paintings depicting locations at night, "Scratch Paper" etchings influenced by exhibit artist Michelle Belto's reductive process on encaustic wax pieces in her current exhibit as well as creating colorful art learning a wax-resist technique with crayons and watercolors. So many beautiful works of art and cherished memories were created, and we can’t wait to make even more lifelong experiences at the Nave during the next exhibit!

Exhibit: "ADMIRATION" by Greg Reuter / "Unfolding" by Tracey Waldroup

During this exhibit, our budding young artists created "Pebbles & Clay" creations based on exhibit artist Greg Reuter's "Birdwatchers" and "Black and Blue 2023" sculptures, "Puffy Acrylic" paintings influenced by exhibit artist Tracey Waldroup's rainbow-colored exhibit works. Lastly, participants crafted their own "Birdhouse on Stilts" based on Greg Reuter's "Beachhouse on Stilts" sculpture piece.

Exhibit: "Trailheads" & "The Peacemakers"

During this exhibit, kiddos enjoyed making soap sculptures based on exhibit artist Dana Younger's "The End" wall sculpture series, "Wonder Women" paintings influenced by exhibit artist Felice House's power female leads portrait series, and crafted their own rendition of presidential portraits based on Dana Younger's "Lone Ranger" series. Such a wonderful exhibit to enliven young imaginations!
